When one domain serves multiple languages, CatchCMS now generates clear language paths for frontend pages. Visitors keep their selected language as they follow internal links and use search, while search engines can identify the corresponding language pages.
What's included in this update
- Language paths: Generate paths such as
/zh/and/en/for languages bound to the site. Domains assigned to one language continue to use their corresponding domain URLs. - Consistent navigation: Navigation, content links, search and form-related redirects preserve the current language.
- Consistent SEO URLs: Canonical links, alternate-language links and the sitemap use the canonical URL for each language page.
- Translated site copy: The homepage subtitle and SEO templates can read language-specific settings.
Checks after deployment
Visit each language bound to the site and check links on the homepage, category, detail, search and form pages. Then review Canonical and alternate-language links in the page source and URLs in the sitemap.
